Pastry Cook - Lautrec restaurant

Description:

The Pastry Cook at Lautrec will need to oversee all aspects of desserts in ALA Carte, while maintaining 5 Star Standard.
Must be able to prep, organize, clean, & cook without any supervision.
Must have a complete understanding of culinary arts & cooking Quality and Quantity of assigned prep work, properly organize and execute station assignment.
Maintain and order needed stores for station assignment.
Follows safety guidelines..

Duties:

Responsible for dessert menu under Chef’s guidance, Bread program, & doughs
Maintain a 5 star attitude and work ethic on a daily basis.
Complete knowledge of menu and food being served.
Responsible for keeping pastry cost to minimum/under budget & keep food cost/waste to minimum. Verifies that all portion sizes, quality standards, kitchen associates maintain department rules/policies/procedures
To improve & maintain all sanitation & organizational aspects in the kitchen
Always maintain a positive attitude with fellow associates, mgmt. & leadership
Take accountability for all guest complaints & makes sure problem is taken care of.
Responsible for helping other kitchen associates complete all projects issued by Executive Chef.
Responsible for maintaining a five star standard in Lautrec in both food and associates.

Qualifications:

Be able to work as many as 50 hours per week when needed.
Degree from a post secondary culinary arts training program desirable.
A minimum of three years in Pastry preparation position.
Must be able to speak English.
Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to kitchen associates, dining room staff, and guests.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, etc.
