| The Food and Beverage Intern will have the opportunity to experience several different positions within Falling Rock, our Five-Star, Five-Diamond boutique hotel. During the three-month internship, the Food and Beverage Intern will rotate through the positions of Server Assistant, Food Runner, and Maitre d' at our Aqueous restaurant. This individual will also have the opportunity to gain experience in banquet serving and/or bar tending. Managerial shadowing will take place during the internship, which will enable this individual to participate in shift preparation activities, dining room awareness, and different situations that involve interacting with resort guests. The intern will be responsible for submitting a learning project proposal to the Falling Rock Food and Beverage Manager and should expect to present that project at the conclusion of the internship. |
Duties: |
Confirming dining reservations with guests prior to their arrival.
Learning specific menu information for a Four-Star restaurant and providing it to guests as needed.
Serving as the communication liaison between front of house and back of house associates.
Understanding and executing Forbes service standards.
Developing an understanding of restaurant flow.
Developing knowledge of essential computer applications such as LMS, Timesaver, and Adaco.
Attending management meetings in order to learn more information about different departments within the resort as well as various management positions.
Performing any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. |
Qualifications: |
High school diploma required.
Candidate must have the ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Previous experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
Must be enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor’s degree program in Hospitality Management or a related discipline.
Candidate must have the ability to speak English fluently. |
