Loan Processing Specialist II

Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for performing a variety of duties relating to the preparation of residential loan documents. Process, underwrite and prepare mortgage settlement packages with a high degree of accuracy while adhering to bank policy and procedure; approve mortgage loan applications within individual authority. Manage the Bank’s correspondent/wholesale mortgage lending relationships. Assist in administering the mortgage loan origination system. Coordinate work within the department as well as with mortgage originators, community offices and other departments. Provide loan officers and customers with support and assistance relating to loan application packets. Report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor. Respond to inquiries and requests for information.

Duties:

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must possess strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills (good punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail a must); strong math skills with high degree of accuracy; strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills; and, strong interpersonal skills with a service orientation. Must have the ability to deal tactfully and efficiently with fellow employees. Must demonstrate proficiency in operating office equipment including personal computer, calculator and fax machine. Must have strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher required and a thorough knowledge of documentation for real estate loans. Experience with and ability to effectively use specialized mortgage loan processing, underwriting, and closing software required. Ability to interact with users to design mortgage related computer applications.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
A high school diploma or equivalent with an emphasis in business or accounting curriculum preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum three (3) years experience of mortgage underwriting to investor guidelines, and related operations functions or equivalent combination in financial services and/or lending industry required. Working knowledge of lending regulations and Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and/or FHA mortgage market guidelines required.
