Description:

Work for one of the best YMCAs in the United States, the Upper Main Line YMCA! We are looking for a dynamic, passionate Tennis Director for our outstanding facility and programs. The Upper Main Line YMCA has been recognized as one of the top 50 tennis facilities in the country. Eighteen outdoor courts and 4 indoor courts are available for member use, programs, and league play. This position is ideally suited for someone who wants to grow his/her career and prepare to take leadership to the next level.

We need a highly motivated team player to build positive relationships with our 13,000 + branch members of all ages from a diverse community. Ability to effectively lead and supervise a staff team, manage a $900,000 budget, guide decisions related to tennis programs and leagues, and demonstrate proven success in the tennis industry are necessary.

Under the supervision of the Senior Program Director, primary responsibilities include: managing a high use tennis facility and part-time tennis pro staff team; developing, implementing and administering high-quality tennis programs that actively engage our membership; participating in branch-wide special events throughout the year.

Selected candidate expected to begin Wednesday, September 7, 2010.

Qualifications:

*Candidate should have at least 2-4 years experience in tennis management related work as well as 2-4 years experience in YMCA or similar agency, specifically program development & administration; YMCA experience preferred.

*BA/BS degree in Sports Management or related field or its equivalent in professional experience.

*Practical and managerial experience in tennis facility management, tennis programs, and special events.

*Great organizational, communication, fiscal management, supervisory and customer service skills required.

*Teaching and training abilities.

Due to the range of responsibilities, a high degree of organizational skills, as well as strong communications and interpersonal skills are needed. Must be a team player with strong human relations skills and the ability to interpret program objectives to members and participants, and to provide communications within and between communities and organizations.
